Art that holds the intimacy of a best friend and with as many stories as one.
Emelia is an artist from the midwest whose artwork utilizes visual imagery to story tell experiences. Utilizing various mediums, rich contrast, and compelling compositions, she invites viewers to connect with their own personal explorations of memory, reflection, and experience.
Recently, she has turned her focus to exploring the rituals associated with anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), painting observations of how these experiences shape her relationship with her body. Her earlier works investigate the interconnectedness of women across generations, geographical locations, and personal relationships. By weaving together these diverse experiences, she describes narratives that give the viewer a lens to observe themes of womanhood, mental health, and the complexities of interpersonal relationships.
